Safer space principles
Roihupellon Bändikoulu is a place where everyone can play, sing and learn as themselves. We want everyone to feel safe and at ease — students, their families and teachers alike.
Respect and equality
We treat everyone equally, regardless of age, background, gender, culture or skill level. Every learner is welcome just as they are.
An encouraging atmosphere
At its best, music is a joyful and encouraging experience. We cheer each other on and celebrate successes together — mistakes are part of learning, and they are allowed.
Zero tolerance for harassment
Bullying, discrimination or harassment are not accepted in any form. This applies to all of the band school’s premises and events.
A safe adult present
Our teachers are committed to maintaining a safe atmosphere. If something worries you or feels uncomfortable, you can always tell a teacher.
Shared ground rules
We follow the band school’s shared rules and work together to keep it a pleasant place for everyone.
Safety matters to us — it is the foundation for good learning and for making music together.
