In pair and private lessons you learn the instrument of your choice – on your own or with a friend. The songs you play are chosen together with your teacher.

What happens in lessons
Your own lesson, your own songs
We teach the following instruments: piano, vocals, guitar, ukulele, bass and drums. In lessons we play lots of songs that the student and teacher choose together. You can also try out other band instruments and jam with your teacher – what matters most is making music together. All the instruments are here at the band school, so no instrument of your own is needed.
Pair lessons are for you and a friend, sibling, partner or even a relative. A pair can also play different instruments – a guitarist and a pianist, for example. The lesson is 30 or 40 minutes, and the fee per term is per student. Private lessons are 30 minutes long. If they wish, students can perform at the band school’s concerts and take part in the studio recording week.
Single lessons can also be booked from the booking calendar: piano, vocals, guitar, ukulele, bass, drums or songwriting, online or in person. A lesson is 30 minutes and costs 45 €. You can change or cancel a booking online up to 16 hours in advance; after that, only by phone.
Your teachers are Sara and Matti. Sara teaches piano, vocals, guitar, bass and drums; Matti teaches guitar, ukulele, bass and drums.

Questions about private lessons
Is previous experience needed?
No. Lessons are tailored to the student’s skills, from complete beginners to more advanced players.
Do I need my own instrument?
No. The band school has all the instruments. You are welcome to bring your own if you like.
Which language are lessons in?
We teach in Finnish, English and German.
When are the lessons?
Lesson times are agreed after you sign up: your teacher will get in touch to arrange a time. You can book a time for a single lesson yourself in the booking calendar.
How long do lessons continue?
Pair and private lessons run for the whole school year, i.e. the autumn and spring terms, 15 times each term.
What if I am absent?
Lessons missed by a student are not made up. Please let your teacher know by message if you will be absent. If the teacher cancels a lesson, it is made up or a substitute teacher takes the lesson.
