How live karaoke goes
You sing. We play.
An hour and a half of singing, playing and good vibes – with a real band behind you.
- Welcome to the stageSara and Matti welcome you in the band school hall. Mics, lights and lyrics on the big screen are ready, and the songs are put together from your requests and our own lists.
- Sing-along to warm upThe first songs are sung by the whole group. Confidence grows with every song, and soon the mic is passed from singer to singer.
- Live karaokeSolo, duet or the whole crew: singers take turns while the band plays. Sara and Matti play the sound of a whole band between the two of them – and sing along in the choruses too.
- Play along if you likeThe instruments are ready: anyone who wants to can grab the drums or a guitar, for example, and play along.

We are musicians and music teachers, and we have run Roihupellon Bändikoulu, our band school in Roihupelto, Helsinki, since 2009. The best moment is when a first-timer picks up the mic and realises they are singing with a real band. That is the moment we want to give you.
The band school is in Roihupelto, a small-industry neighbourhood in east Helsinki whose halls are now home to artists, musicians and small businesses. Not a karaoke bar, not a tourist spot – a real neighbourhood of musicians and makers, the Helsinki visitors rarely get to see. It is about 15 minutes by metro from the city centre, and light rail line 15 and a direct bus from Pasila also stop nearby. We speak English, German and Finnish.
We also bring live karaoke to your own party – Christmas parties, birthdays or company evenings. The price depends on the event.

Questions about live karaoke
Is live karaoke for beginners?
Yes – and for more experienced singers too. First-timers can start with the sing-alongs and get support as we sing along. More experienced singers get to do their own solo with a real band.
Which songs can we sing?
Tell us your song requests when you book, and we will put the song list together from them and our own lists.
Does live karaoke work for a bigger group?
At the band school up to 12 people. For bigger parties we bring live karaoke to your venue – ask for a quote.
Is live karaoke suitable for visitors?
Yes. We speak English, German and Finnish.
Can we play along?
Yes. All band instruments are ready, and you are welcome to bring your own (for example a wind instrument).
Can we take home a memory?
Yes. You are welcome to film the performances on your phone.
How do we pay?
Payment by arrangement: MobilePay, cash or invoice.
How do I book?
Tell us your preferred date and time, how many of you there are and your song requests using the form, and we will reply by email to confirm.
